The Santa Fe Reporter Interview & Video

Hello again everyone. I have been so busy and it’s been a while since I have updated the website with a blog, but I couldn’t let this news piece slip away. The Santa Fe Reporter recently conducted an in-home, “MTV Cribs” style interview with me. I had a lot of fun and it was definitely a very exciting and different kind of interview. The complete story is available online at the Santa Fe Reporter website. Below you can see the video clip of the interview.

The Santa Fe Reporter’s, Alexa Schirtzinger was welcomed into my home with a cup of coffee and a homemade burrito for the interview. Several members of my campaign team, Gibo “Li Cow” Baca of Baca and Marino Real Estate and Allen Grace of XYZ Surveys, tended the stove while I was interviewed. Alexa sure seemed to enjoy the burrito which included Green Chile that my mother, Viola and I picked last September that was grown right here in Santa Fe.

Please visit the link and feel free to post a comment here or on the Santa Fe Reporter’s story entitled, “Home Sweet Home“.

Thank you for all of your continued support to The Benito J. Martinez Jr. Campaign for Santa Fe County Assessor 2010!

Benito J. Martinez Jr. Draws Number 1 On The Ballot

I am extremely pleased to announce that I have drawn number one on the ballot for the upcoming primary election!

Today was filing day for all county candidates along with several Legislative and Magistrate Judge positions and the Probate Judge Position. I am really looking forward to moving ahead with my campaign here in the next several months. Now that we have filed for our candidacy and obtained the position on the ballot that we wanted, I am eager to connect with consumers of Santa Fe County. I also want thank the many people that have already pledged support of this campaign.

I also want to remind everyone that applications for absentee voting may be obtained directly from me through my website. Along with voter registration applications, I have made a commitment to do all that I possibly can to get the vote out this election. One of the most effective ways to do this is to make it as easy and simple as possible for voters to cast their important votes.

To receive an application for early voting or to register a potential voter, please contact me! I will personally deliver the necessary forms to you.

Good luck to all candidates!

AFSCME Interview/Forum

Had a great time last eve at the Union Hall! It’s really nice to communicate with the employee’s of Santa Fe County whom are represented by the local chapter of AFSCME.  I pledged to the union members to place some information on my website relating to the “YIELD CONTROL FORMULA” which is used in setting tax rates for Santa Fe County property owners. Unfortunately, I FORGOT, that state employees are on a furlough day today!  I had planned to go down to DFA for this information and then post. I will do so on Monday.

I did a really good job at union hall and I look forward to connecting with supporters soon!
